Item Description
John Kennedy - in the words of his wife, Martha -- We never imagined our family would be affected by an incurable disease. It's been 10 years and John can no longer walk, talk, eat, and much more. John's mind is still 100%, but he is trapped in his body that is failing him. Our two daughters keep him laughing constantly. They have only known their dad "after symptoms." I only had one year with him before symptoms. John grew up in West Texas loving the Cubs-going to a game as a kid in Chicago with his Dad. Our first trip alone was to Chicago to sit 3rd row at a game! He is an athlete who played baseball until his late 20's. He has a stubbornness like most baseball players. He digs deep and continues to live each day. Fate connected us with Project Main Street. With their help John was able to finally get a power wheelchair. It gives John a chance to chase his girls around the house and feel normal again.
